CN 4-8-2 #6015 - Canadian National
Description:
This is one of the lucky Canadian National steam locomotives to dodge the scrapper's torch and be preserved. Built by the Canadian Locomotive Company in August of 1923 (serial #1711, class U-1-a). the powerful locomotive served until retirement and donation to the Canadian Railroad Historical Association (CRHA) in Delson, Quebec, Canada in September of 1960. The CHRA eventually put the loco in a long-term lease to the city of Jasper, Alberta, Canada, in exchange for their CN 6060 locomotive. Currently it sits on display as a preserved specimen in Jasper. No photographer was listed for this photo.

Description:
This once mighty 4-8-2 Mountain-type steam locomotive has now been relegated to the storage/scrap line at Stratford, Ontario. Built by Canadian Locomotive Works in July of 1924 (serial #1756, class U-1-b), it served until retirement. It met the scrapper's torch in January of 1959, about 5 months after this photo was taken by H.L. Goldsmith. Probably one of the very last photos of it ever taken.
