Description:  Volkmer. Here is an image of a photo (converted to B&W) by William D. Volkmer that was taken in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 18 April 1959. Parked in the Erecting & Machine Shop storage yard is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5891, an EP-22 built by GM-EMD in April of 1950 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. To its immediate left is Baldwin-built "Centipede" #5821. In the foreground is PRR gondola #244227. William E. Burket Collection.

PRR 5836, EP-22, 1959
Title:  PRR 5836, EP-22, 1959
Description:  Mann. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken at the Passenger Station in Louisville, Kentucky, on 2 May 1959. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #5836 and #5891. Both are EP-22's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. #5836 was built in February of 1951, while #5891 was built in April of 1950. Looks to me like the Fireman's waiting for the signal from the Conductor to highball it out of The Derby City. ("PrrFan18n")
