Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5351, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during March of 1924 and retired in April of 1958 after 34 years of service. The number of the Baldwin BP-20 diesel-electric locomotive depicted in the lower left-hand corner of the photo is not recorded.

Partial Caption: "In times past, diesels then commomplace but now revered in memory did the honors on the Long Branch. In June 1960 at Red Bank, we see . . . Pennsy BP-20-class passenger Shark 5779 on a race special for Monmouth Park." #5779 is a BP-20 built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in October of 1948, rated at 2,000 horsepower, and retired in May of 1965.
