UP/C&NW CITY OF DENVER #CD-07-A |
Description: |
Jointly-owned CITY OF DENVER trainset with 3 1,200 horsepower engines: #CD-07-A, #CD-07-B, and #CD-07-C. #CD-07-A and #CD-07-B were built by P-S (Lot #6484, Plans #7358 and #7359) and EMC (Order #E123) in July 1936 as #M-10003, and were renumbered in June 1937. #CD-07-C was built by UP in December 1939, using the engine from #M-10001, which had been built by P-S (Lot #6426, Plan #7338) and EMC (Order #E121) in October 1934. All 3 units were retired in March 1953 and subsequently sold for scrap to Aaron Ferer in Omaha; the actual scrapping took place in July. Scanned with an Epson V550 from a duplicate 35mm slide, brand is unknown. Date, location, and photographer are unknown. |
