It was retired in May 1960. |

Although the date and location are unknown, according to the CB&Q Locomotive Assignment Sheet dated November 1, 1955, number 5612 was assigned to the Galesburg Division and based on the Mars Light and cab signal box (rectangular box on top of the boiler) which were installed in the 1950's. |
