Byerly. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Fred Byerly that was taken in Detroit, Michigan, c. 1959. The photographer is not identified. Photo Caption: "Alco S-4 #8434, 1000-hp, at Detroit, Mich." Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #8434, an AS-10 switcher built by the American Locomotive Company in February of 1954 and rated at 1,000 horsepower. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Diesels On The Pennsylvania" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (819-31).
