PRR 6005, EF-25A, 1966 |
Description: |
Winter Day. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad locomotives in Altoona, Pennsylvania, during February of 1966. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #6005, #6502, and #6032. All were built in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower each. #6005 and #6032 are EF-25A's built by EMD, but #6502 is a GF-25A built by General Electric. They are about to pass under the 4th Street Bridge on their way West toward the Altoona Passenger Station. Visible in the background are some of the PRR Passenger Car Shop buildings, now abandoned. Photo taken from the 4th Street Bridge. |

Description: |
TRB. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Summerdale, Pennsylvania, c. 1967. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #6052 and #6502. #6052 is an EF-30A built by GM-EMD in February of 1966 and rated at 3,000 horsepower, while #6502 is a GF-25A built by General Electric in April of 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. In this context, they're pulling a manifest freight train out of Conway and will soon enter the Enola Yards. |
