CNJ, E-port shop complex at, Elizabethport, NJ. 4/01/1984 I took this photo while getting ready to land at Newark Airport. There is so much to see here, and some much that is now gone. The huge building in the upper right, is the Singer Sewing Machine Company which I delivered to many times in the 1970s, while driving for Commercial Trucking out of Paterson, NJ. The long 4 track bridge in the photo now is gone, and is the Newark Bay bridge to Bayonne, NJ that a CNJ commuter train loaded with passengers dove off of in 1958, killing 48 people, including former New York Yankees second baseman Snuffy Stirnweiss. I remember that coming on the radio news in my dads car while heading south to Ocean Grove, NJ. Another amazing thing. You can see 9 of the 12 lanes of the busy NJ Turnpike, and not a car in sight. Now a days, it would be bumper to bumper traffic. If you look really close, you will make out eight E8s. I can spot three Southern units, and three PC units. Also at least five RDCs, some Arrow cars, and various commuter coaches.
