Still working in freight service is MILW 4-6-0 #1068 but a year later it would be scrapped in June of 1954. Originally built by Baldwin in August of 1903 as CM&StP Vauclain compound 4-6-0 #427, it had many numbers during its nearly 51 years of service - renumbered in 6/1907 to #1777, renumbered in 10/1912 to #4377, renumbered and simplified in 11/1917 to #2927, renumbered in 11/1920 to #2885, renumbered in 6/1938 to #1068. No photographer was listed for the photo. |
