Illinois Central GP10 8167 was on an outbound train on the ICG’s SHORE LINE DISTRICT in Mandeville, Louisiana as it made its way from Covington, to Bogalusa. The loaded pulpwood cars on the front of the train had been picked up at a woodyard about half way between Covington and Abita Springs, and were on their way to the Crown Zellerbach paper mill in Bogalusa. Pulpwood was also loaded at Lacombe, and this would be picked up further along the line. This was a former Gulf Mobile & Ohio branch. (approximate date of photo) |
