Odd duck of a steam locomotive but an effective unit that served the CNJ as a multipurpose locomotive. Alco-Brooks built 35 of these 4-6-0 ten wheeler camelbacks in 1902 (class L5) for the Central RR of New Jersey. Although retirements started as early as 1934, the last of the class to go was in 1952 after serving 50 years.
