Steamtown occasionally had a problem with its regular steam power, so they restored CN 3254 to serve as their main engine while CP 2317 was getting an overhaul. In 1990, they made an arrangement with Walter Rich to run the ex DLW to Kingsley Pa, about 30 miles north of Scranton. The route would take the trips not only over the massive Tunkhannock Viaduct, but also over its smaller sibling, Martins Creek Viaduct, and through Factoryville Tunnel as a bonus. This is one of the first trains to run to Kingsley, the eight car train dwarfed by the massive structure. |
