Going thrjugh at Glass  Contributor's Pick!
East Glass, that is. TV 301 passes the home signal at CP E Glass, the east leg of the wye leading to the Corning Secondary, the ex NYC line that runs north along Seneca Lake to a connection with the Chicago Line at Lyons. The line will be downgraded in a few years-abandoned south of Wellsville-and this poinw will be renamed CP Gibson when the switch at N Glass is changed to a hand throw. Fall color abounds on this mid October day. TV 301 will follow the Erie west of Corning to Buffalo.(

G. Vaughn General N. Glass did not immediately become a hand throw. The wye became CP-Gibson, CP-Corning and CP-Glass. CP-Glass was removed later (under NS IIRC, who later relaid yard tracks that had been removed by CR). 3/27/2017 9:01:38 PM
G. Vaughn General When the highway bridge to the hill was installed, CR had to replace the SB signals for CP-Glass with new ground masts because the bridge blocked view of the original signals. 3/27/2017 9:04:56 PM
Steve Coraggio General Awesome shot and very good description of the CP. 1/26/2022 4:39:08 PM
