WYCO had a separate division located over the Snowy Mountain range from their better-known line in Laramie. This line hauled mostly woodchips from Saratoga to the UP connection in Walcott. On this day they had Southwestern geep 2072 as power (both lines were owned by the same company, Western RR Builders). After years of hauling low volumes of low tariff traffic, they finally gave up and pulled the track. A siding at Walcott now serves transloading what came up the WYCO. |
