ATSF 8726
PURCELL OK October 1975 -- Two trains await crews to continue their journey. Santa Fe U36Cs 8726, 8735 and GP39-2 3604 lead a southbound covered hopper train. Beside them U23B 6341 is on the point of another southbound train. GE built the 8726 (s/n 38888) in March 1973 and delivered it in yellow warbonnet. In November 1985 the Cleburne TX shops rebuilt it as a Locotrol master SF30C, painted it into SPSF red-yellow and renumbered it 9530. Sometime before Jan 1 1991 it was painted back to yellow warbonnet. It was retired sometime in July or August 1995 and sold to National Railway Equipment on Aug 9 1995.
