UNION PACIFIC SD40-2's LEADING A UNIT COAL TRAIN!  Contributor's Pick!
The elation I gave in the title might seem a little dramatic,But lets journey back to 1993,Here we witness four Union Pacific SD40-2's leading a loaded unit coal train at Lynndyl,Utah on UP's Provo Subdivision this train loaded at this Wattis Mine on the Utah Railway. The quality of this picture may not be that great However,I was only 22 years old at that time and could only afford a cheap 35mm snapshot camera and cheap slide film However,Who could complain about seeing four of these classic locomotives leading a coal train,Try finding a mainline unit coal train led by SD40-2's in the pre-dawn of 2011. A testament to my fledgling days of this photographer.
