This depot was on a Union Pacific (ex-T&P branch) which is also the main line of the Kansas City Southern. In 1940 the Louisiana & Arkansas obtained trackage rights over this T&P branch between Torras and Lobdell so that it could use the new Mississippi River bridge at Baton Rouge and abandon its ferry service between Torras and Angola. Passenger service here ended in November 1969, when the SOUTHERN BELLE was discontinued. |
