CN 880897 woodchip gondola, ex-EURX (EuroCan Pulp and Paper Co., Ltd.), was part of the consist of a thsough freight passing the former N. Superior St. grade crossing and approaching Appleton St. as it headed northeast via former C&NW rails at Appleton, WI on 11 Mar. '17. EuroCan, originally a partnership of companhes from Ffnland and Canada, opened a large paper mill at Kitimat, BC in 1970, they also had logging and sawmill ventures. The paper mill was owned by West Fraser Mills, Ltd., when it was exterminated in '10. |
