CRIP 2-8-2 #2676 - Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific
Description:
This loco, CRIP 2-8-2 #2676, was built by Alco-Brooks in September of 1923. The loco may be sitting in a storage/scrap lineat the Blue Island yard as it was sold for scrap 1 month later. Specs - K-64 class, 63" drivers, 200psi boiler pressure, 28x30" cylinders, engine wt of 338,200 lb, and tractive effort of 63,467 lb. With a booster added in 1931, it increased the te by 10,460 lb and with a stoker added, the weight was 347,100 lb. After nearly 29 years of service, the loco was retired and sold for scrap in July of 1952. This is an Arthur B. Johnson photo.
