Description:
Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad 4-6-2 Class S-1-A 2833, date, location, and photorgapher unknown, print by Riverview Publications, Chuck Zeiler collection. Although the date and location are not marked on the print, it appears to be the Downers Grove, Illinois commuter yard. The February 1, 1952 CB&Q Locomotive Assignment Sheet indicates number 2833 assigned to the Chicago Division. Number 2833 was built by Alco (Schenectady) in 1907 (c/n 43478) as a Class S-1, rebuilt in 1927 to Class S-1-A, sold for scrap in October 1953.
