The Maine Eastern oeprates freight year round and passenger excursions on the Rockland Branch from Brunswick to Rockland in the summer. The ME have proposed operating passenger service connecting with the Downeaster in Brunswick up to Augusta using the Lower Road. Currently there are no trains operating on this line but one can hope for the future. It looks brighter now than it has in a long time.
