An interlocking tower stood behind the post office building to the left of the train until 1998. The diamond crossing and the western leg of the belt line was removed following the TC's demise in 1968. It roughly followed the route of today's I-440 to Charlotte Ave. at West Nashville, crossing over the N.C.&St.L.'s main to Bruceton near that company's West Nashville Shop complex. |

I suspect that the Tennessee Southern would have also gotten the Brentwood to Columbia segment if the Saturn (now General Motors) plant in Spring Hill had not been under construction at the time of the sale. |
