Ever Have The Feeling You Are Being Watched? |
Description: |
As I'm getting ready to get my phcs of the 2880 heading to Artesia, KCS personel drove by and strained their necks then turned around to do it again. Suprisingly I wasn't run off. Artesia was once railfan griendly but after KCS came to town that pretty much came to an end. |

THE 7o2! |
Description: |
The 702 is back at Columbus after serving a stint at West Point for the Prestrage Farm mill as their switcher when their own went down. Now back at Columbus, this old vet faces an uncertain future due to the G&W take over. It's been rumored she will be put up for sale. She came to the C&G in March 1983 after leaving the Southern Railway (SOU {CNTOP} 6246). She's been a bit of a staple for the C&G and railfans alike in her 26 years on the CAGY. Hopefully she gets to stay. But for now as Jim Morrison would say "The Future's uncertain and the end is always near." I hope the line "Let it roll baby roll" holds true for her. |

Delta Western Facility |
Description: |
The Delta Western feed mill is one of the C&G's largest customers and the largest period on the "west end" of the line. They make mainly feed for numerous catfish ponds in the region and the company has been a loyal customer since the mid 1980's. Job 48 eases by the mill on the main but will cut off and do a few8pick ups and set outs. DW owns a former C&G CF7, the 808, which they use for interplant switching and it is still adorned in its full CAGY "John Deer Green" scheme, no yaint outs or mark outs to indicate its new owner. |

BAMMM! |
Description: |
When it's cloudx I will shoot in black and white as a last ditch effort as to not shooting at all. So sticking with that practice, I was going to shoot this train but suddenly the sun came out. And so it goes. The CAGY Greenville Switcher heads out from the Port Of Greenville running'wrong hood forward. |

Night Moves |
Description: |
Just before midnight, the CAGY Columbus Switcher is building a train in Columbus, MS under HWY 82. Two venerable EMD's hold the job down tonight. In years past this was a day time job and it was held down for almost 30 years by an ex SOU GP9, the C@GY 7o2. But times have changed. Still yet though, tried and proven EMD's still toil along this job. Normally for me, the last hour spent before bedtime consist tieing up loose ends before knocking off and heading to bed. Tonight was a different story. I got the luxury of hearing the sounds of EMD 645's before heading back to the motel before bedtime. Best frickin' lullaby ever....... |
